according to B and B, a reporter for some newspaper in northwest indiana asked jackson why he didnt throw at hunter. he got very defensive saying that he shouldnt ask him a question like that and that jackson doesnt play like that. the reporter did some extra work, and talked to an unnamed sox player who said that when jackson was with the twinkies a few years back, he become very good friends with hunter and that is the reason why jackson would never consider doing something like that. Another reason......his fastball is only in the mid 80's. It just wouldn't hurt.

Maybe if Jackson aims for the batter he'll miss and it will enter the strike zone?

Another reason.......he couldn't hit him if he tried. All he knows how to do is groove pitches down the middle.

I think Koch would have had an easier time hitting Hunter, especially since he's a control pitcher!
