...it's HEART!!!!! Hawk said it best on TV...this team is playing with more heart now than it's played with in years. And here's something even more ironic...2 of the most HATED radio/print personalities, Jay Mariotti and Steve Rosenbloom, said yesterday and today that the better team to cover this time around...is the SOX!!!!!! They're enjoying how this team is playing, they're saying there are "more stories" with the Sox than the Cubs, and the Cubs are too busy making excuses for why they're so far out of the playoff picture.

:wills ...and the Cubs did NOT get their big-named free agents from South Oak Dodge, where if you get it from anywhere else, it's...AW SHUCKS    ...you paid to much!!!!!

Few things:

1. Thank you Brandon Inge. Without his 3 defensive miscues, we don't win. That said, I will take him from the Tiggers as a catcher in any second. Why? Sandy is totally useless, his 1st-pitch ground-out to LF in the 7th and runners at 2nd/3rd/no outs and team down by 2 was nothing short of pathetic. Not even gonna mention the bunt or the weak grounder.

2. Schoeneweiss needs to go to the pen, where his newly found cutter and change and an increased velocity (from 90 to 93-94 as a reliever) will make him one of the better long-men in the game, who is absolutely lethal on lefties.......He is just not cutting it. What does that mean? It means Carl Pavano should be here yesterday. That pushes Garland and Loaiza to 4-5 spots where they belong and can do some good things. And Show goes to the pen.

3. Why is Burnitz not in RF again?

4. Vintage 2002 Crede. :bandance:

5. Why was Gload not pinch-hitting for Alomar in the 7th. The only thing he is good for these days is hitting the ball up the middle in critical situations off a RHP - usually for basehits.

6. Konerko. Money.

7. A shorter swing allowed Carlos Guillen to go from being an average hitter to an All-Star starter. I reckon somebody on our team should learn this timeless lesson.

8. Attendance. Me likey. JR, the ball is in your court now.

The message sent to Detroit was this: we sent a struggling #3 (Loaiza) out there against their ace and won yesterday. Then today, we send our #5 against their hottest pitcher, fall behind by 4 runs in the 7th and come back and win. You better believe both teams are aware of it.

Maybe even bigger is our 20-8 record against the AL Central. We've had some thrilling wins against all the Central teams now.

Just got back from the game. Awesome, awesome time.
For some reason, I got stuck in a section (516) with a ton of Detroit fans. They were talking all kinds of trash the first seven innings, as if they weren't in fourth place or something. Unfortunately, a whole bunch of them left in the eighth once the Sox made it 6-5, so I didn't get a chance to taunt them. The ones that remained got to listen to us chant "DETROIT SUCKS!!!! DETROIT SUCKS!!!!" after Joe hit that ball. I had a feeling he would come through. He really had a good at-bat in the seventh, with the two-run 2B down the right-field line. I'm sure he took a lot of confidence to the plate in the ninth......

I was there too; it was probably the most exciting game I've been to all season. The first few innings looked a little bleak, but Paulie's and Jose's homers, followed by Crede's bases-loaded double really gave new life to the crowd. Nothing like a LOUD sellout crowd to dispel the whole "lifeless bowl" thing the critics use to describe the Cell.

I watched the entire Sox game on WGN last night. First Sox "home" broadcast I've seen since 1998; what a way to win. There was something about the way the team carried themselves in that game that I have not seen since the 93/94 team. They chipped away at Detroit's lead and fought their way back using the long ball, smart baserunning, timely hitting and working the count. Ozzie Ball works!

Crede's final at bat was simply magical.

I can't wait until Monday night.:supernana:
