Anyone else catch the story about Freddy on this morning's SC? It basically said he had a ruptured (sp?) eardrum the last couple years with Seattle and that caused his balance to be off, which in turn caused his pitching to be much worse. He saw an ear specialist this offseason and had surgery to correct the problem, and now his hearing is fine, and he thinks that's one of the major reasons why he's pitching better this year.

It's a pretty interesting story...maybe the Sox should have sent jamie navarro and billy koch to an ear specialist when they were here.

Garcia's ear problem was mentioned by a Seattle writer in a on air interview when Freddy was picked up by the Sox.

He also mentioned that Detroit's Carlos Guillen is playing like a All-star because he isn't out hitting the clubs with his best friend every night now that they are on separate teams.

As long as Freddy isn't pitching the next day I would like to see him show Guillen a night on the town:gulp:

I hope Freddy kept his buddy out all night.............................:D:

Saw the story on SC, not sure if that would have helped Navarro........he was infected with Cubitis, incurable and always deadly.....just ask the Red Sox (Buckner).....

I saw that, Which leads me to believe his career lines, or his average, isnt on par with what it should be. Had he been "healthy" the past 2 years, his numbers could be a lot better, So his doing so well, doesnt really suprise me.

Many dismiss him as an ace based upon his 2002-2003 figures, even though he has had this problem for over 1.5 seasons. Look at his 2001 stats! I think that THIS is the real Freddy that we signed for 3 years!

This is exactly what I thought when I saw that sportscenter piece. I don't know how someone can predict Garcia to not be good, because of those two years, but when Reed has had only 1 good season, or 1/2 a season, he is a cant miss.
