In an almost ridiculous stroke of irony, just after the Sox postgame coverage ended, ESPN-Radio 1000 switched over to the feed from Bristol and they had Rick Telander, Sun-Times columnist, on the air talking about the Cub free-fall. He yakked about how the team is not a team, how embarrassing Hawkins' actions were, etc. But, at the end (and I'm surprised no one mentioned this), he comes to the conclusion that things are still OK because the Cubs continue to draw 35,000-38,000 per game.

He then mentioned how it's a shame that the Cubs get all the press while the Sox continue to play very good ball. He then went on to talk about the Cubs for the next 10-15 minutes I believe.
