While in the middle of his perfect game, Mark was talking about it in the dugout!
"Guys were like, 'What are you doing?" [Buehrle] said. "I didn't care. It's not that big of a deal."
Buehrle-mon is awesome!!!!

I can't believe he was talking about it during the game. I was afraid to talk about it in my living room!
Not to hijack the thread, but this was in the article too:
The other big blow in the inning was delivered by Valentin, whose 21st homer leaves him four shy of joining Cal Ripken Jr. and Alex Rodriguez (http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?statsId=5275) as the only shortstops to hit 25 or more homers in five straight seasons.
Way to go Jose! And big props to Buehrle!!!

He's such a damn gamer it makes me crazy. He gets up for big games. All the hub-ub about the big bad Indians who should be in 1st if they had a 'pen and he flat out shuts them down. He might not have your overpowering, typical "ace" stuff, but he gets outs and he puts up zeros. You subtract a few bad outings and he's having a cy young year, run support or no run support.
On another note, I hate to look ahead, but that series against the Twins mon/tues/weds is going to be electric....

It's not just a couple outings... Try a couple innings.. Two first innings where his head didn't seem to be in the game to be exact... @ home vs the Yanks and @ Montreal... 12ER in the first innings of those games, subtract those innings, and the whole season is a different story.
His ERA subtracting those two innings would be 3.14

Good calls Cheat and ChiWhiteSox. I knew it was only a few bad starts, but I forgot they were all due to bad innings.

He also told the team not to go out and hurt yourself trying to make a great catch or play to protect the perfect game. As long as he gets the win he doesn't care. NOW THAT IS A TEAM PLAYER!!
