Devil Rays: The Tampa Tribune reported that you can pretty much scratch the White Sox off the list of teams Fred McGriff might be traded to now that Chicago has acquired outfielder Carl Everett.Apparently, the White Sox were considering picking up the Crime Dog. Thank God that didn't happen. This guy is just swinging for those last 7 homers to get to 500. I wouldn't want that guy's individual record chasing interfering with our division race.

He has been done for at least 2 years. This is just a desperate attempt to pad numbers. It is sad, just like when Baines tried to do it.

Kenny Williams never considered McGriff for a second.

What was the deal with McGriff when he was with the Flubs? Bruce Kim trotted him out there to get some kind of meaningless record, which prevented Choi from getting some much needed AB's.

Thank god. That would be a redux of the Jose Canseco debacle.

I thought Jose did a decent job for the Sox- 16HR and 50 RBI for half a season. But yes, we do not want Crime Dog

Those are decent numbers, for some reason I remember it not working out with him...

This guy should not be even considered for a team making a playoff push. If Tampa Bay doesn't want him, then I don't think that any team wants him.
