I'm just watching the game online so I don't really know if it was intentional or not. Still, that isn't gonna help...

After the pitch at Patterson, both teams were warned. The pitch to Rolen was unintentional. It looked like Rolen sorta leaned into it. Go Cards

I see patterson struck out. Did he swing at that pitch at his ass?

Brian26

LaRussa has never thought twice about throwing at someone in retaliation. In fact, he demands it. Someone from the Cubs will get hit hard late in the game if the Cards have a nice lead.

Not surprising the Chicago's Useless Baseball (Team) Sucks .They hit Edmonds twice last night. In the American League, I am a diehard White Sox fan. In the National League, I am a die hard Cardinakls fan. (My home town is 45 miles northeast from St. Louis.) Go Sox! Go Cards!:)

Losing this game might be the final nail in the coffin...both division and wild card.

Between yesterday's gutless performance and today's implosion, this is bordering on a complete meltdown. They have definitely hit rock bottom, it's just a matter of some of these tough teams on the rest of the July schedule keeping them there.

OMG, So Taguchi has home run POWER! Tie game 8-8. That ball was WAY out of the park. LaRussa just massaged Taguchi's shoulders. Typical Farnsworth blowup. Farnsworth is so overrated because he throws 100 MPH. He's a head case just like Zambrano and blows as many leads as Mike Jackson.

I have the same problem every time the Bears play the Rams. My home town is Benld located in Macoupin County- 55 miles southwest from Springfield and 45 miles north east from St.Louis. By the way. the Cards just tied the Cubs making up a 7 run deficit. Thanks for the compliment. I won't try to let you guys down. Believe me, I'm enjoying this a whole lot :D: , but when I read that, I couldn't help but think of the first two games the Sox had against Cleveland at home in June or the first two games against the Angels a couple of weeks later. I want to bury the Cubs as much as anyone, but I thought they were sniffing dirt around this time last year, too.

I guess this is a long-winded way of saying that I'm superstitious and don't want to jinx anything.

But this game is a lot of fun so far.

It's one thing to dispute a bad call and be disgusted... but when your team is just plan bad, don't complain, you have the choice of who to cheer for. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

This is classic.

So I'm at work, and I just say to a fellow co-worker who seems to be having a bad day, "Hey- At least the Cubs won today- now they're 8 out!"

Last time I checked, they were up 7 runs.

For the hell of it, I go to chicagocubs.com to check the final score...
11-8 Cardinals!!!! in the top of the 9th!

Unbelievable.

That is dumb. LaChoy should be suspended for a few games as well. Dustbin also was defending "Z" yesterday as well. It won't be long he's done here...

And someone also posted about Skip Carey, that ball wasn't hit hard but it was kind of dropping fast. But, as usual you would have thought he hit a grand slam the way he was yelling. I think he scared Ron so bad his wig flew off!

Cubs are finished. Today emphasizes the melt down physically and mentally. Blowing the 7-1 lead and then proceding to lose miserably. Plus the melt down of Hawkins shows how far gone the CUBS really are. Put a fork in em!. GO SOUTH SIDERS!

I don't think a Cub loss has ever pleased me as much as that loss. I know a higher power was instrumental in that today. This morning, we said goodbye to my grandpa who was a die hard Sox fan, in fact, we gave him a Sox Pride shirt as a last gift. He married a Cub fan too and could never understand it. After the Cards took the lead, I said to my dad, "Thanks, Bob!", which was my grandpa's name. Now, hopefully he can help out the rest of the season.

If they thought that place was unsafe yesterday, wait till after the game. Not only chunks of concrete will be falling from the upper deck. Watch out below!! Oh...that's nothing. CBS 2's 5 o'clock news led off with a story about pigeons pooping on the fans under the 3rd base side upper deck. Talk about hard, investigative reporting, huh?

This is really beautiful.

It's funny because that game, the only part of the game I saw was that inning. I turned it on right as the Bartman "incident" took place. Then saw the botched double play. And turned it off. I guess I caught the best part.
