Will Uribe have to give it up?

Probably per Everett's White Sox seniority.

Wasn't Everett 27 last year?

Nope - he wore #5:

Not that 27 helps either though - Burke's got that number now. The last #27 I remember (before Burke) was Josh Paul.

I believe he was wearing #2 for the expos.

I believe Carl did wear another number until Jimenez was traded, IIRC it was 27. I wouldnt say that Uribe has to give it up, but he might be willing to

Good, I thought I was going crazy. I believe his All-Star jersey was #27 also.

I put a bet on Everett taking #8.

"Crazy Eight". I like it.

He decided to change numbers one day (I think in Aug), from 27 to 5. You guys don't remember that? I recall Hawk talking about it, and he thought it was pretty strange...

You mean #5 is not gonna be retired after the great ray durham wore it?

Just kidding. I liked ray and he was a pretty solid player. Obviously not quite jersey retiring solid, but he was pretty good

The roster page at WhiteSox.com has Everett as #5 if that means anything...

I think he will wear 0...symbolizing the amount of dinasours that have roamed the earth....or the number of times man has landed on the moon. Yes that's right, "Crazy Carl" doesn't think man has been to the moon.
