Don't forget that one of those three wins was a 1-0 pitcher's duel. Have to tip your cap to Wood right now because he's throwing a very strong game.

How do you triple in Wrigley it's basically impossible with that stupid "Ivy Rule" thing.

Brew Crew ties it up on a sac fly after a non-webgem by Sosa to allow the runner to get to third.

Ye of little faith! Go Brewcrew! [though I can't like 'em that much because the Cards are my 2nd fave team, but no real threat to StL right now, from anyone, so no biggie.

I made a bet with someone about 3 weeks ago that the Brew Crew would win 6 out of 11 this month. This guy thought I was crazy for even suggesting it because he (and the rest of Cubdom) thought that my Brew Crew had never won a game. Only one game until my $100 jackpot. We're one step closer to my White Sox/Brewers dream World Series!

How do you triple in Wrigley it's basically impossible with that stupid "Ivy Rule" thing. If MLB had any scrotage, they'd make the Cubs tear down the ivy. Not only does it often interfere with the ball in play, it's not safe. How come everybody but the Cubs has to have padding on the outfield walls?

I didn't read the rest of this thread yet, but you spoke far too soon. Never count the Brewers out! Go Brew Crew - another good series.

No no no... you've got it all wrong. Prior is Jesus Christ. Kerry Wood is more like John the Baptist preparing the flub world for the coming of their savior.

Wrigley has always been a triples park, despite the short fences. Ron Santo, was never very fast, but in 1964, he tied for the league lead in triples with 13. (A rookie named Richie Allen also hit 13 for the tragic Phillies.) I didn't see today's triples or any triples in 1964, although I saw Santo hit an inside-the-park home run as a member of the White Sox a decade later (baseball in slow motion). Balls hit into the right center or left center can bounce toward the base line because of the way the walls comes out to make room for the bleachers. Rightfielders especially need to anticipate. Sammy Sosa learned a long time ago to throw his arms up in the air and hope for the best.

I was thinking the same thing, but you beat me by about an hour.
