"Closer confusion in win"
The intention by Guillen was simply to call time out and talk to Marte about keeping the ball in the strike zone, after walking Dye. Marte stayed in the game and struck out Hatteberg looking on five pitches, with the Oakland first baseman never moving the bat.
"I have two lefties coming up," said Guillen with a laugh regarding the confusing situation. "I'm a rookie manager, but I'm not that stupid."
"You mean you didn't put in your closer to face the lefties?"

"Do I look that ****ing stupid to you?!?"
