Important Dates
Longest Home Stand Remaining
White Sox: 10 games; Sep. 17-26 (3 vs. Det, 3 vs. Min, 4 vs. KC)
Twins: 10 games; July 30-Aug. 9 (3 vs. Bos, 3 vs. Ana, 4 vs. Oak)
Longest Road Trip Remaining
White Sox: 10 games; Sep. 6-16 (4 @ Tex, 3 @ Ana, 3 @ Minn)
Twins: 10 games; Sep. 20-26 (@ 3 vs. CWS, 4 vs. Cle, 3 vs. NYY)
Deciding Factor
White Sox: This is just ridiculous, the Sox will play 48 games in 49 days during the period of August 17-October 3! Just one off day in September. That stretch includes 27 straight games (August 17-September 12)! Health is a huge factor here. If Ozzie can keep his rotation rested and keep his lineup hot, then we shouldn't have any problems. Ozzie talked about the All-Star Break being bad for the Sox who have won 4 games in a row. So hopefully they go on a tear like that during that 48 game marathon.
Twins: It's all about August for the Twins. In that month they play 19 of their 28 games vs. opponents with records over .500. They also play 6 of the other 9 games against a division rival (Cleveland). They will need to play very, VERY well in August as they will head into September and play 17 of their 28 games on the road. If they don't play well in August, the division maybe lost by Minnesota as early as September 1st.
