Catcher Sandy Alomar will have arthroscopic surgery on his right knee Sept. 27 and miss the rest of the season. Team physician Dr. James Boscardin will perform the operation, which will be the 10th knee surgery overall for Alomar. His left knee has undergone eight operations. This will be the second time in two months Alomar has undergone the same procedure. Manager Jerry Manuel said the latest operation might be to perform "a more thorough" cleaning of loose bodies in the knee that surgeons didn't get in his Aug. 13 surgery. Alomar, who hit .245 with four homers and 21 RBIs in his first with the White Sox, is signed through next year
