Phil "Scrap Iron" Garner and the Sox actually go further back than when he managed the Tigers. IIRC, he was managing the Brewers when they were still an AL club when Garner and Bevington were gonna go at it. I believe that this is how / when Bevington earned the "Boom Boom" name.
