Think about it...

We had won four straight series against these dopes.
We had WAY to much fun last year during the NLCS.
I for one think that this is revenge for last years NLCS. The anger  that I feel now could only be matched by the joy :D: I felt last year in games 5,6 and 7.

At first I was furious at the Sox, but now that I have calmed down and my blood pressure has dropped dramatically, I say we are still in first with 84 (How ironic!) games left to kick some Twin rear and do damage in the playoffs.

Also, every loser cub fan who said to me "Sweep, sweep", I have said this to and it pretty much shuts them up. "You Cub 'fans' should know what it is like to to lose three games in a row..." Then I just very subtlety say "5........6........7......"

So far it has shut them up!

GO SOX... I am still behind you 1,000,000%

Yep, as a certified "C & E" guy, I probably cannot rely on divine intervention either...so I guess JR has to get a leadoff hitter and some more pitching instead.

If by "due" you mean we suck ass in national league parks then yes we were "due".

Yesterday I was watching the game with about 20 cubs fans and only one other Sox fan, so I was VERY pissed when the they lost last night, and even more pissed when I saw that Beuhrle and Thomas didn't make the All-Star team. But what kept me going was knowing that we're in first and the cubbies aren't.

Anyways when you look at the history of the Sox vs Cubs I guess you could say we were due for a few losses, I'm still pissed though.

Funny the Sox never had this much trouble before in N.L. parks have they?

They were able to compensate for the loss of the DH but not the DH AND their best hitter.

Just another testimant to how valuable Magglio is.

Or how bad Ozzie is at managing it.

What did ozzie do wrong? I think Thomas should have started 1 of the games, but then you take Paulies glove away. Wille is BAD vs lefties, but Valentine may be worse. I had no probelm with his bullpen moves. If Marte and Shingo wont throw strikes out of the pen then who will? Lips explanation is accurate imo.

He plays too much small ball in the wrong situations. How many times has this team tried to play small ball only to see it fail. The number goal of any manager is to put his people in the best postion to succeed. Ozzie isn't doing that with all the small ball crap he tries. It shows an strong inflexibility on his part to adjust to his talent and have a game plan suited to the players strengths, only his pre dertrimination to play small, results be damned.

If we could just get rid of this damn Valentine character, I think the Sox would be alright...

I wasn't even aware there was someone named Valentine on the roster.

I'm sure you can try, but ala Bobby Valentine, I'd guess you kick him off the team and he'll just show up in a hat and "bignose sunglasses" sitting on the end of the bench!

Does the misspelling of Jose's name really piss everyone off that much? Or does everyone still think it's funny? I agree that it shouldn't be that hard for a Sox fan to remember to write Valentin, but this is the second time today I've seen a thread go off into jokes about spelling Jose's name right. It's not even a newbie this time - I'm betting RPS knows Jose's name. It's an easy typo to make - could we let it go just once?

No.
