He had kidney stone problems back in spring training didn't he? I remember a blurb every day for a week until he finally passed them.

The mariners just put MIguel Olivo on the DL because of kidney stones..might be because of all the stress hes' been under.

Olivo missed games with the Sox for the same reason, I am pretty sure it was last year.

Considering that this year and last year was the only time he was up with the Sox besides the six games at the end of 2002, I would guess it was last year.

So that is why we traded him! It makes perfect sense.

Hey Labrum, I used the right teal!

I think you are correct about the kidney stones. I also believe he missed some games in spring training because of the stones.

Has he played since Sunday? They can probably make the DL stint retroactive from then, so maybe just over a week.

Saw this report on what they're gonna do for Miggy...

According to a team doctor, the stone causes inflammation of the tube that runs to the bladder. A stent is inserted to make sure the tube does not get swollen shut.
Given the only way I can imaging them "inserting a stent", <SHUDDER>

Best wishes Mo, get well soon.

I just want to say for the record... Olivo would have held on to the ball that Burke couldn't handle today.

Can't the doctors destroy Kidney stones with Ultrasound, like they do with gallstones?

Or is this 'stent' thingy to prevent their formation in the first place?

Either way, MO has my sympathy - I bet it's painful.

Having passed one three years ago I feel his pain. :(:
My urologist stressed drinking lots of water.
Which tuned me into a pissant. :D:

Since he played for the Sox on the same day he got traded, I think he was healthy enough to play when the Sox had him.
