It is getting close to th time when Managers will be given the pink slip. Wonder who goes first? Write in who you think is first to go, vote for who you think is the most deserving to be fired.

i voted bob melvin, but it might as well have been jimy williams. They win the JM prize for doing nothing with something.

I voted for Melvin. I just don't see them climbing back in the race and that's a huge disappointment. For as bad as Houston has been they still aren't quite out of it yet, although the door is slowly closing.

Bob Brenley will be gone since Randy Johnson has shown his frustration as the D'Backs have totally cashed it in.

I heard today that the clubhouse is a mess, per Jim Rome. With Steinbrenners Storm Troopers stomping everyone in sight (except us; 3-4 record against the vaunted Yankees in April means we're right there, imo... but I digress) the nice guy Francona doesn't stand a chance, and his head will roll when the Red Sawx fall off the ledge into Boston Harbor.

Jimy Williams has less than 2 weeks to get things straightened out before his head rolls. He's got my vote. Most of those other guys have reasons why. With Tosca, Melvin, Brenly, Hurdle, and McLendon it's just a lack of talent. Scioscia might be a top 5 manager right now. He's just been hurt because of injuries. Bowa has his team in 1st place and Howe is doing well with what he's been given. Boston hasn't been too bad. They just happen to be competing with the best team money can buy. Not an easy task.

Brenly fired today.
Diamondbacks fired manager Bob Brenly.
Brenly doesn't deserve much of the blame for what's gone wrong with the Diamondbacks this year, but he was never a very good manager in the first place. The Diamondbacks are expected to name a replacement for the remainder of the season at an afternoon news conference. Jul. 2 - 2:58 pm et
