I hope next year it is the 1 year anniversary of Jon Garland's no-hitter against the Twins.

Ah, the Andy Hawkins game. Perhaps I will go dig my commemorative bat out of the closet and tell my wife the story of how I attended that game for the 550th time. She'll love that.

Who is "Andy Hawkin"? Is he at all related to Andy Hawkins?

Does anybody know where Andy Hawkins is today? I wonder if I could get him to autograph my ticket stub from 7/1/90.

Trivial fact about that game--it was perfect on both sides through the first 4 1/2 innings (i.e., half a double perfect game).

It was also the third date I had with the woman who is now my wife.

"HE DROPS THE BALL!!! And NOW EVERYBODY'S GONNA SCORE, and the Sox lead THREE TO NOTHING!!!!!"

(shot of Jim Leyritz trying to look as cool as someone can look after making a 3-run error while your pitcher still has a no-hitter intact.)

Yea, I remember going to the game as a last minute thing to do....glad I did that. I think about the 7th you realized the Sox could be no hit and win this one.......a real bright sunny day and mild.......Glad I got a tape of that in the archive vault.....still fun too watch but I miss the old park..

Happy Birthday Grand Old Lady where ever you are.. :gulp:
Pour your self a cold draft today....

Also :bandance: Birthday southsidegirl who was born on that date....I wish my kids where born on significant White Sox history

Aah...the memories. I wish ESPN Classic would show a game like this instead of the 1st game of the 1988 World Series over and over again.

"The Sox get no-hit and still win......YES!"

don't anniversaries end when the park no longer exists?
