All they said was some kind of inflammation (sp?) of the elbow.

We're gonna have to score 20 off Zambrano to stay in that game. And THEN we will have to get to the bullpen.

I think the Sox need to make a trade for another starter...NOW!!!

Mark down tomorrow as an "L" for the Sox. You just KNOW Diaz will crap his jammies in front of the huge crowd.

I'm sorry, but "crap his jammies" had me laughing so hard I almost fell out of my chair. Hilarious. :D:

Question(s): how long has this thing been bothering Schoenweis? Is this part of the reason for his less than sterling performances of late? Did someone tell him to "just pitch through it?" Was he told to wait until the Sox got a fifth starter?

I just asked Kenny Williams, and he said this has been going on for a couple of days. That's what they are saying at this point.

This is particularly bad because KW just lost a lot of leverage in potential deals. Everybody knows that we were desperate for pitching before this announcement...now they'll make us pay dearly for it.

By the way...just say NO to Russ Ortiz. He's terrible.

wow is this season starting to REMIND me of 2001. Anyone remember what happened ? They went into the season with a bunch of question marks in the pitching staff (read: Didnt shore up pitching) ..........Pitchers got hurt.......
and they pissed the season away ..............

Is Shoeneweis the 2004 version of 2000 Cal Eldred?

Is Shoeneweis the 2004 version of 2000 Cal Eldred?
no, because eldred was a huge reason why the sox were where they were at the all star break--solidly in first place. we went like 10-2 or something in that first half with a few really dominant complete games if i recall. shoeneweis has definitely not been comparable to eldred.

And the news of the day just gets better and better...

Like Hal says 'you can never have enough pitching...so why bother'

I guess this means Kenny needs to trade for both a #4 and a #5 after he follows through on his promise to trade Jon Rauch.

expect an inflammation of the scoreboard
:whiner: Unfortunately, now with two AAA starters and Buehrle and Garland with ERA's in the high 4's, I think we should worry not about staying close to first, but about staying above .500. At the time of this writing, I just hope today isn't a bloodbath.

Well, that just plain blows!!!!
Or does it? I mean Schoene was the worst of the 5 starters and hasn't pitched well. Maybe Diaz has something thjat could make him better then Schoenweis.

Imagine that, me thinking a Sox pitching prospect can actually be productive...for once.:D:
