Disputes with the umpire are generally settled by means of a duel, elephant guns at 1000 paces. What day can I pencil you in for?

Four runs in 8 1/3 is not pitching great. It's pitching decent. Sure, he gave them a chance to win, but he wasn't spectacular. And he didn't come through when it counted, getting beat in the ninth.

Valentin's selection was a no brainer.

Eh- I rather look at it this way:

He gave up 2 runs on 1 hit over 8 innings. The 9th shouldn't have mattered because the Sox should have scored more than 2 runs and Shingo would have mopped up the 9th.

The way it turned out, yeah, I'll say Jose is the PTC.

The PTC is obviously Ross Gload.

Oh wait, you mean LOB for hitters *isn't* a good stat?
