It is unfortunate that the MLB All-Star game is a popularity contest especially when the game actually means something. Thomas is having a very strong first half of the season and deserves to be an All-Star. He has moved up tp 4th place for first baseman. It is time to get out and vote. I have voted 100 times. I used my four email accounts to vote.

as a sox fan, i would like to see him go. as a ball fan, i would not. he is a dh. he does not play the field and is not a dh. defensive talent is overlooked in todays game. he should be selected to come off the bench but that is in the hands of Tora! Tora! Tora!... whoops i mean torre.

I am showing support for him as well as, writing in Uribe every chance I get. I have voted at least 50 times on line and have voted at the park over 10 times for Frank and Juan.

You can also vote by making up bogus email addresses such as asdfeks@asde.com and other such names.

Now you are thinking! Why limit the amount of votes. You can vote as much as you want at the Parks.

I notice that the online balloting states that your address must be real. How do they know if it is or not? I used a fake one the first time I voted and figured they must not have counted. I was guessing you would get an e-mail after you voted with a link to "confirm" your selections. I never got one so I figured my votes didn't count. In other words, fake addresses wouldn't work.

So I voted today with my real address and got no follow-up e-mail. Is this how it works? How does MLB know if your address is real or not?

It's truly a travesty of justice that he hasnt been in there since 1995 when he's had 4 all-star calibur seasons since then (1996, 1997, 2000, 2003). You'd think in at least one of those four years he wouldntve been cheated out of a spot on the all star team.

Frank was selected to the 1996 and '97 teams, but did not play becuase of injury.

IMO the DH should be used in the AS game regardless of park. Who wants to see the best pitchers hit? Not me. I know its the way the game is meant to be and all, but 9.5 out of 10 pitchers just suck at hitting. Frank should be starting at DH. He is the best DH in baseball right now.

i like seeing the pitchers hit. i am a big fan of national league ball. that is real baseball to me. you have the best of the best, including manager, so why not have make them work? having the all star game as a popularity contest was fine when the game did not matter. bud needs to think ahead and should have created a better system for choosing all stars and put it in place, worked the kinks out and then had the game mean something. oh well, who needs common sense in the comish office.

I know its the way the game was meant, but I cannot watch national league baseball. Unless willis or hampton is hitting its like using 8 batters. I know there is more strategy involved, but who cares. If not for the DH, two of the greatest white sox hitters ever would not have accomplished as much. Baines was a good fielder but got hurt. Thomas was just brutal. Konerko is not that great of a fielder, but after years of watching thomas play there he looks like a gold glover

well I just voted 50 times, but it was probably a waste of time. Dont think we are gonna get him up to #2. There probably would be an uproar too since he has played about 3 games there

i understand your thinking, so does bud selig. he has molded the game so people who don't like to watch the strategy unfold don't have to. he allowed the monster home run numbers without question. he has allowed the game to fall to pieces for the baseball enthusiast menwhile pumping up the game's more exciting side to make it as glamourus as basketball. i am not knocking you or anyone else who does not like national league baseball, just stating my opinion. and for the record, having baines and thomas dh is great as a sox fan. But think about the cardnals. they got mcguire in his hr heyday. imagine if he did not have to play 1st. his back may have been ok enough to play a few more years.

First basemanship is 98% hitting, 1.5% running, and catching the ball when it gets thrown at you.

I voted 25 additional times last night using a legitimate e-mail address, and today I got a confirmation e-mail from mlb.com. I could be that they disregard your votes if their confirmation e-mail bounces back to them.

You can always set up free accounts with Yahoo or Hotmail, but if you want to place additional votes the easy way, I agree that you should use the e-mail addresses of spammers - make them actually worth something!
