Here are a few stats that I think all of you might like. You may be familiar with some of them already, but I'm trying to spread awareness for these stats:

22 Consecutive batters retired*
21.1 Consecutive Scorless innings pitched
9.33 lower ERA than BP's projection (1.11 as opposed to 10.44)
2 Runs against Shingo that Hideki either scored or drove in*
3 total runs allowed by Shingo*
0 Runs scored by teams not Named the New York Yankees*
.70 WHIP
.136 BAA (.143 vs Lefties, .132 vs righties)
.083 away BAA
.52 WHIP against teams not named the New York Yankees
2 hits allowed in last 11.2 IP

What's that mean? What would break up a "consecutive batters faced" streak?

Yes. Matsui doubled and Bubba Crosby homered.

Yes. Matsui doubled and Bubba Crosby homered. Oops, bad memory, I (clearly) remembered a series of events that didnt happen. All of the other numbers should be right now though.

Baseball Prospectus article on the feat of pitching a hidden perfect game...retiring 27 batters in a row over the course of multiple games. Great read as Shingo might be able top attain this feat, but he still has a long way to go. 5 straight outs always sounds easy, but it really isnt

JFC, did you have to ****ing bring that up? Man, there goes the streak. Never mention something like that before it happen, it will always bite you in the ass.
