According to the AP game notes, "... Konerko's hitting streak was snapped at 10 games."

Is that correct? I thought he had no official AB, as he just walked, so the game doesn't factor into hitting streaks. Did I miss something?

A plate appearance breaks a hitting streak. Even if it isn't an offical AB.

Mais, non--

Rule 10.24 of the Major League Baseball Official Rule Book states the following guidelines for cumulative performance records (specifically those dealing with hitting streaks):
A consecutive hitting streak shall not be terminated if the plate appearance results in a base on balls, hit batsman, defensive interference or a sacrifice bunt. A sacrifice fly shall terminate the streak.

Was there a sacrifice that I missed? Did Pauly appear at the plate for more than that one walk?

Box Score says 1 walk and 1 run. No official at bat. Must have been their mistake to say the streak has ended.

Cool; That's how I'd remembered it, but I thought I might have just been giddy with the comeback and forgotten some plate appearance.

How nice is it having multiple players on a tear?

Very nice. Now only if all of our pitchers went on a tear at the same time.

Please don't use the words "pitcher" and "tear" in the same sentence. :(:

Bonds hitting streak continued earlier in the season after he pinch hit and was intentionally walked, so Pauly's streak continues!

WH streak was snapped at 13. How far will Paulie go? Maybe he will break C Lee's streak........

I don't think it breaks his hitting streak, but if he were to hit tonight that game would not count as a game to add to his hitting streak so he'd be at 11 games tonight instead of 12.
