I read a stat a few days ago (Jayson Stark, ESPN.com) that showed pitchers that had the most line drives hit off of them and those with the least. The point being that if batters are smoking liners off of you, then you have some problems with your stuff.

Shingo had the third lowest percentage of line drives in MLB!

The hardballtimes.com Web site, through data compiled by Baseball Info Solutions, tracks a fascinating stat -- line-drive percentage. Here, heading into this week, are the pitchers who have allowed the highest and lowest percentage of line drives this year among balls put in play (minimum: 20 IP):

Koch isn't in the AL top 5 for most line drives? They must not count majestic homers. :o:

Good stat....It feels good to have a "unhittable" closer for once, the law of averages tells you Shingo will slip up eventually, but nothing beats having confidence in your closer in the 9th.

Its nice to see Matt Kinney number one on that list. From a baseball fanw ho spent the last 4 years in Milwaukee at Marquette, the guy flat out stinks.

Shingo also has retired 23 batters in a row. He's on course for the "hidden perfect game".
