They're thinking 8. But they're almost never right.

The game has been called.

It'll be interesting to see how they make this game up. The only other time that the Phillies come to Chicago (to play the Cubs), the Sox are on the road. They have a few mutual off days in August. August 2 is a day off for both teams and the Phillies are in town to play the Cubs the three days before. The Sox are at Detroit and have to go to Kansas City. It's a Monday and both teams play afternoon games on Sunday. Both teams play night games Tuesday so that's possible. The other choice would be August 30th which is another Monday. The Phillies are in Milwaukee the day before and have to make their way to Atlanta. The Sox are in Cleveland the day before and come home to play Detroit. I would guess it would be made up either of those days.

With the rainout, Munoz likely won't be needed to start until the 19th.

Well, this can be good for 2 reasons:

1) It eliminates our need for the 5th starter this week. Regardless of how well you think Diaz will do, this will save us from probably a 75% chance of a loss on Saturday.

2) The Phils basically get a day off before facing the Twins. Hopefully they can use that as an advantage and slap them around for us. :D:

Game will NOT be made up unless it has an effect on the standings at the end of the year.

Gee, you think it might? They might have to decide this division by who lead the most innings.

But the Sox will win by more than two games, no?

We're a half game back right now. This one's going back and forth, down to the wire. I'd hate for the road to the ALDS to go through Philly, but stranger things have happened.
