I mentioned this in another thread, but it needs it's own:

I admit I didn't see the game, but just look at the box score. How the heck to you #1 let your pitcher pitch through a 7 run inning with out trotting out someone from the bullpen. Then, #2, how the heck to trot that pitcher back out to the mound to start the 5th!!! Unreal!!!!

I'm a big fan of how Oz has let is starters work deep in games to get their confidnece up, but he's got to be able to recognize when his SP doesn't have it. If I was Garland, I'd be pissed that Ozzie didn't protect me when my stuff was failing me.

Seeing as we lost by only 3 runs, this could have meant the difference in the game. Oz better be a quick learner

Not that I don't agree w/ you, but it doesn't seem like Garland was pissed.

Here's what Jon had to say about the situation:
"That showed me a lot," Garland said. "I respect that out of Ozzie."

Because you don't start the carousel on a day like that, basically anyone thrown out there was likely to get lit up, you had rain falling off and on and it was clear due to the wind and weather it was going to be another slugfest, why tire your bullpen on a day like that especially with an upcoming 5th starter around the corner.

You're right--only a fellow MLB manager can comment on other manager's moves.

Why are we on this Web site, again?
