I was just about to post this. I guess Gammons is gonna talk about it. Im guessing theyll say we need a closer and starter. Of course we all know the answer is buyers :) but nice to get the national attention anyways

EDIT: For those who didnt know what he was talking about, the bottom of the right corner of the ESPNEWS channel (usually where breaking news or upcoming topics are shown) said "Ahead: Are White Sox buyers or sellers?"

Peter Gammons rules! He just said "that's how good the White Sox are" referring to the fact that they haven't won a game since ?? with the 5th starter and still have a great record.

The White Sox discussion lasted all of about 30 seconds.

So what are we buyers or Sellers?

It was just like a one question 30 second coverage of the Sox, but Gammons said they're looking at Freddy Garcia, but the Mariners are telling everyone (including Yankees, Boston, etc) they want to wait a week or two.

Gammons also brought up Ohka from the Expos. He said it would make sense, since we only need a 5th starter, and haven't had a win since 2002 from that spot. Brian Kenny and Michael Kim were surprised by that, and Gammons said something like "Yep, it's true, that's how good of a team the White Sox are, no wins from the 5th spot, but still a great team."

I think he must have been confused, he meant Red Sox. He's been mailing it in ever since they put his picture on the twenty dollar bill :)

Screw Gammons. Let him jump back onto the KC or Minnie bandwagon - or whoever he picked to win the Central besides us. There's no room for him here.

EDIT: And thanks for that late-breaking news, Peter. What?!??! The White Sox are looking at Freddy Garcia?!?! That's only been going on for the last 2 years...

That stat has been covered here a million times. We won three times in that spot last year. Gammons is such a drillrod.

Can you imagine how much better this team would be with a solid starter like Garcia?

You gotta respect Gammons' tenacity in sticking by his faulty information.

whoa! this is the same guy who 3 months ago picked the sox to finish behind minnesota and kansas city. typical of him to jump on the bandwagon when the sox are on top and his original pick is mired in last place.

I am still mad at that guy for his attack on the Federal Bank. The magnitude of the Panic of 1837 is his fault. His treatment of the Cherokee and Seminole people was not too good either. Screw Gammons.
