This was the day that Frank Thomas hit his first Major League home run. It came against the Minnesota Twins at the Metrodome, off of Gary Wayne. Does anyone remember this?

I had just turned 21 a few days before that. So, no I do not remember. As a matter of fact, that is about the point where much of my life becomes hazy. Congrats Frank!!!! :gulp:

Did the Lee Stevens homer happen before this day or after?

By the way, did anyone else mention yet that the Oakland Alameda County Coliseum is a dump?

I believe it was beforehand.I remember that game.Talk about a crushing 3-2 loss.McDowell started, went 8,then Thigpen gave it up in the 9th.I still remember seeing footage of Lance Johnson trying desperately in vain to climb the centerfield wall at old Comiskey. No dice. :(:

I've got some slides somewhere of Frank playing 1st from games against the WrongSox that Sept at Comiskey. He clearly passes the optical steroids test (yep he was pretty darn big, even as a rookie)

We all know that Frank was that big. He was a TE in college. And those aren't small people

IIRC, Frank wore #15 when called up...Did he wear this number the rest of the '90 season?

I believe he wore 15 for only a few games. I know he was 35
at the end of the season.

After checking the 1991 Sox media guide it shows Stevens home run WAS on August 25, 1990.
