Is there any reason to be concerned about his leg? Did they mention that it is worse than originally thought?

Are they saying whether Maggs sitting out is precautionary or if it is more serious?

nothing has been said about the extent of the injury.

Interesting. As of twenty minutes ago, he was going to play tonight. I hope his calf injury isn't more serious than originally believed. Fortunately, the Sox have been swinging the bats well as a team, so they should be okay in the short term if he can't play this weekend.

Maybe due to the fact of how the offense is hitting, they don't feel Maggs needs to be in the lineup possibly increasing a chance of reinjuring his leg. I read in the Trib today that he felt fine, but you don't want your best player on the DL. Ask Dusty Baker.

It's funny how the club thinks they can keep us guessing after taking a pitcher out of his regular turn in the rotation right when we're about to call up a fifth starter. They did the same with Diaz. However, apparently the media (or Foltman at least) is stupid enough not to catch on.

Maggs was cleared to play yesterday by Hermie. I'm sure it's a precautionary thing because of the chilly temps..

On ESPN, they said the reason Maggs could have played, but they decided to err on the side of caution, since it was somewhat chilly and a night game. They said expect Maggs to be in the line-up tomorrow, since it is a day game. No need to risk any more injury to a sore muscle.
