Second City Ranks First

In a poll asking 95 major leaguers their favorite road city, Chicago was the winner with a large amount [35] of votes. The two responses that ESPN used on the cover portion were from Hudson and Sabathia, two obvious AL pitchers. Only bad item is the image they used on the page itself -- Wrigley Field. Bah!

"A big city, great shopping, great restaurants. It's like New York, but clean and not as chaotic." - Tim Hudson.

What good Press?

If only U.S. Cellular Field was as memorable as revered Wrigley Field.

"I'm not crazy about Comiskey, or whatever they call it now," said Blue Jays slugger Carlos Delgado, "but I like the city."

I did like Garland's response:

"Wherever I can win," said White Sox pitcher Jon Garland.

So in appreciation for spacious Comerica Park, Garland cast his vote for Detroit. He was all alone with that opinion.

Somehow, I don't think Tim Hudson's "great shopping" ranks very high on most players' reasons for why they like Chicago.

Now that I live in Portland, I like Tony Pena's comment at the end of the article.
