Have you noticed that in interviews, and in particular on the Sox pregame radio show, that Ozzie Guillen often says "I tell you what..."? Is Ozzie trying to break Norm Van Lier's "I tell you what" record?

I get pretty tired of people ragging on guys who speak broken english.
You always hear, "If you're going to live here, learn the language."
Well he did and he may not sound like George Plimpton but god damnit at least he's giving the effort.

If Ozzie sounds like George Plimpton currently does, that would not be good.

has he really come back from his injury yet?
He hasn't started since he collided with Maggs.

I agree.

He has made a big effort in learning the language and he should be respected for that.

If you want to laugh at some broken english then look no further than your local schools.

Then he's on the bench because he's good enough to pinch hit and not start?

I give him all the credit in the world for learning the language. When I lived in a foreign country for a few years, I learned their language also. But that doesn't mean that a celebrity of his status shouldn't be made fun of. come on - I mean - it's not like we are insulting him - just making fun of him. With all the things said about people here, making fun of Ozzie's accent is no big deal. I make fun of Mike Ditka's accent all the time. I make fun of guys from the south, from Europe - why not Ozzie?
