In today's BP transaction analysis Chris Karl writes that Cotts is an "improvement over a hopelessly damaged Danny Wright (out for the year, and perhaps forever, with injuries to both his elbow and shoulder)". Under the impression it was just his elbow I was optimistic but if his shoulder is the in the mix there are some serious problems there. Just look at the links in the labrum thread on shoulder and tommy john surgery.

Wasn't it reported last week that he had issues with both his arm and shoulder..?

Perhaps I missed it in the thread on this board though.

I've been off the boards for a few days so I don't know if it was posted here either. I do know that it was reported that there was an issue with both though.

Here's another BP update this one from Will Carrol:

Danny Wright is facing the worst-case scenario. After losing his spot in Ozzie Guillen's rotation, he's now on his way to visit Jim Andrews. An MRI showed significant shoulder damage, which was expected. The surprise was the extent of damage in his elbow. With both injuries potentially needing surgery, Wright may be in for a long, tedious recovery, one that may mirror Jaret Wright's of recent years.

Sweeney, without blinking an eye. We might see him next year, if the Sox stay true to their word (We aren't going to let age influence where Sweeney plays).

He is raking pretty good in high A right now, so you figure AA by the end of this year...AA/AAA next year with a possible mid-season callup.
