Why exactly should Koch go to AA?

Do we have a "most ridiculous post of the month" award? Cuz this should get serious consideration.

Kelly is being showcased. I am sure he is going to be traded by the deadline to a team looking for a lefty in the pen. If he has a good month, he could have significant value, either in terms of prospects to a contender, or even in a package to a team that is folding for a impact player who could help us today (CF or SP5)

I would like to see Kelly stay around - but that doesn't seem to be Kenny's plan. Let's hope he can get top value for Kelly if he trades him.

Kelly got off to the right start tonight. He looked pretty sharp. Kelly has two jobs for the next couple of monts: help us win games and increase his trade value.

If Cotts does well in the five hole then there's a pretty good chance that another team will be added to the list of teams seeking a lefty reliever: the White Sox. I think Wunsch's stay with the Sox will hinge on Cotts' ability to produce in the fifth spot. If he can keep us in games and gradually get stretched out to become a six-to-eight inning starter then Wunsch will be someone we're glad to have late in the game.

If there's anything you should learn, it's that baseball is a business...

I think it would take a veritable no-hitter (through 3 or 4) for Cotts to become the 5th starter. I don't think Ozzie can put it in any more specific terms that he's keeping Cotts in the pen and will even use him that way in his "start".

Anything short of domination and IMO he's back in the pen while we figure out who to trade for and how. Likely including Kelly in the deal.

I think this is going to be a very sound move. I think COtts will be good in the starting role.

All it will take is one good start, and management will lose their love affair with Cotts coming out of the bullpen.

I wouldn't complete that fund too quickly...... you might just see Wunsch in that category real soon. jabrch, hit the nail on the head....... wunsch is likely traded or headed back to AAA. Watch for Munoz in Chicago soon...........

Maybe I missed a meeting or something, but just when did Kelly Wunsch really screw up for the White Sox? All I've ever seen is solid performances from him appearance after appearance.

Rumour has it that Wunsch can't hit a biting breaking ball to save his life, but how much does that really matter?

Give Diaz a little more time in the minors, let Cotts have a shot at the number 5 slot because he's obviouly earned it, and let Wunsch re-aquire his "lefty specialist" role until he screws it up.

For 3 out of the last 4 years Wunsch has been our most consistant pitcher (barring injuries... AND he's shown resiliance following injuries). If Koch is still given the benefit of the doubt with the organization, Christ knows that Wunsch deserves at least the same consideration.

I've felt the urge to strangle; Gordon, Koch, Marte, and Hernandez and Thigpen in the recent past, but never Wunsch. What's the big friggin' deal?

Signed,
Confused in West Town

P.S. Ozzie's comments about Wunsch confuse me as much the people on this forum ripping on Wunsch. Is there a personal beef that we're not catching? I just don't get it, but then again, I don't really understand why my cat runs full blast from the fronchroom to the bedroom for no apparent reason. Maybe she's late for a meeting too.

No joke, just as people were jumping off the FOC bandwagon, a new FOK is being formed with this "grassroots" movement here...
