On his first MLB hit yesterday, off the Rocket no less.
More importantly, he kept the Miracles in the game which turned into a eventual win and thus denying the hated Rocket to start the season with 8 wins in 8 starts.

Since the Mets are my other favorite team (not second-favorite, once upon a time it was possible) I'm happy for Ginter. And I hope Royce Ring pans out too. BTW, my hatred of the Cubs has more to do with being a Mets fan than it does with being a Sox fan.

Good choice elrod. Even though the Cardinals are billed as the Flubs' great rival, the shrewd baseball historian realizes that from 1969-1993, when the Flubs, Mets & Cardinals shared the NL East, it was the Mets who were the chief thorn in the Flubs side and vice versa. 1969, 1973, 1984, 1989 it was Cubs and Mets (although in 73, 5 teams had a chance at the end).
In fact, it could be argued the Cardinals' main rival during those years was the Mets as they battled in 85 and 87. When the Flubs were good, the Cards usually sucked and vice versa.
