View Full Version : Hawks most memorable moment

Hawk read an e-mail I sent to him on the air tonight. Unfortunatly I was at work and didn't hear but my wife was tuning in. She said that he said it was the game 3 of th 83 playoffs when Landrum hit the dinger off of Burns and that the next game Hoyt was going. That kind of surprised me. I thought he might say Bo Jacksons dramatic homer after returning from his long recovery or something. I think he said that moment because of what could have been.

That's exactly what Hawk finished with. He said he knew, at the time, that the winner of the '83 ALCS was going to win (and Baltimore did) the World Series.

I love Hawk's e-mail segments. They are unintentionally hilarious. Here's another one from that game:
"Dear Hawk, is there any pitcher you were ever afraid of facing? The answer is of course! Lots of 'em!"
"Boy, I never liked facing Terry Mullholland. I could never get a hit off him."
"I think the question was about pitchers you were AFRAID of."
*chilly silence at being called out on air*
"Yep, there were lots of pitchers I was afraid to face!" (proceeds to name none)
"There were lots of pitchers I didn't like to face because I could never get a hit off of them."
*you can hear him rolling his eyes*
Anyone who says these two have chemistry is nuts.
