We won the series. That's what you gotta do. It just angers me that we couldn't put up just two runs for Jon in the earlier game.

Diaz was shaky, but he had to be pretty nervous, first major league start. He was shutting down their hitters till the fifth when he left multiple pitches up in the zone.

If I'm not mistaken, it's now 12-4.

Paulie may have redeemed himself TODAY, but it still does not atone for almost two full seasons of blowing chunks.

Lee is still mired in a huge slump as well.

The Sox hitters are reminding me of the 2003 and 2002 editions, especially in May.

The Sox missed an opportunity to give Garland a great win today, and missed a golden opportunity to get a sweep against a good team going into the biggest series of the season to date. Goodness knows they had the pitching to do it.

Sorry for being so negative, maybe I should just sign my name Lip.

Actually, I do feel better now than I did this afternoon.

I think it's 12-3 too. What's our record in 15 run games?

Happy tonight after reading about today's game. Too bad we couldn't have swept them, but 2 of 3 is good. Now we need to whip on the twinks this weekend. Thanks Paulie!!

I'm happy the Sox aren't two games behind the Twins yes. that being said the 5th starter slot is still a black hole.

If not for Crede's boot Koch would've had a 1-2-3 ninth (with a double play). Koch did his usual on the first hitter. Get ahead 0-2 and then lose him. Most impressive was the Mora AB. Fell behind 3-0 then induced an easy fly out. Overall, decent performance.

Split the doubleheader, win the series, outscore a good team 21-6 (shame it wasnt more evenly distributed), win the last game of the series. All in all, cant complain, good way to lead in the weekend. Give us a win tonight so I can go to saturdays game happy and confident :D:

Does anyone else find it disturbing that we can ramble on for 3 pages bitching and moaning about a Game 1 loss, yet there's only 1 page discussing a solid Game 2 victory?

Sox fans! Gotta love 'em! :D:

The positivity on this board is really getting out of hand, I think there should be a 15 to 1 ratio of negative comments to positive, this team deserves nothing more than that. :D:

Has he had a 9th inning all year where he didn't walk or hit the first guy?

Some positives to look at:

1. Burly-mon and Garland both pitched outstanding against a good offensive team (6th in runs and 2nd in BA in AL). It's just a shame that Jon couldn't get half the run support that Burly got.

2. They won the series. You really can't expect them to sweep every series but I'll take 2 of 3 every time.

3. They are still only a game behind Minnesota with a chance to make up plenty of ground starting tonight. The Twins got a break playing a horribly slumping Seattle team. Yet, IIRC, went into extra innings twice.

4. Diaz look good for about 4 innings. I'd still like KW to get a solid #2 or #3 though...
