I'm not sorry that I said he sucks and couldn't hit the ball of a tee

I'm not sorry. He hurts us alot more than he helps us.

Yes, but like him or not, he came up with two big hits in this game and if they call the game, the HR will be the game winner.

Let's hope this is the start of something good.

Oh man was that a beautiful piece of hitting.

Good, he hit a homerun, but how many times has he hurt us with his speed or just bad hitting? Alot...

I love what he did last year against Minny and love what he did today, but I don't love what he does in just about every game..

I'm still not convinced he can hit right hand pitching. Dont get me wrong, he absolutely kills lefties, but he's clueless against righties

That's why I picked him as my pick to click!!!

Thank you Paulie for making me, and Ozzie, look so smart.

KW should be calling and asking if we can trade him...right now. Whatever you can get...he is a good guy that makes too much money and can't hit right handers. Unfortunately, we don't play K.C. 150 times, or else Paulie would be MVP.

Trade him for whatever you can get. Free up the payroll and a roster spot.

A lone 5-RBI game does not atone for almost two full seasons (since the 2002 All-Star break, remember) of abject mediocrity at best. I'm still on the Dump Paulie bandwagon. I need to see a full season of consistent .290-30 HR-95 RBI, without any 2-for-45 slumps before I jump off.

Outside of "Tinkerbell" Manuel, Konerko deserves the most blame for the abomination and utter disappointment that was the 2003 season.

Paulie filled his quota of RBIs for the month in one day.

The worst news is that PK's performance in Game 2 today means that Ozzie is going to put him back in the everyday lineup for the next two weeks.

Trade him. Bench him. Put him on the DL. I don't care. Just get him out of the lineup against right handers.

If we do want to trade him, we better hope that today's performance in game 2 means that he is coming out of his slump AND that Ozzie will keep him in the lineup.

This is pointless. He's done absolutely nothing since like week 2. This is what's expected of him. You know, a number 6 hitter, first baseman, makes 8 million...those guys drive in runs occasionally. One game means nothing. I'd rather he went 0-5 today and have us lose if we could go back and erase the last 4 weeks where he couldn't hit a beach ball with a tree trunk. We'd probably be in first right now.

he still sucks. If he Gets White Hot, and carries the club for a month, month and a half, this thread will make sense.

I always liked Konerko but his referrence to fair weather fans is way off base. Fact is he hasn't done much since that 13-9 win over the Cubs in June of 02. He was once a team leader. He is a disappointment now.

Yep. How can a professional athlete not have enough pride to improve his speed and fitness if it's a weakness?

Hell, Don Beebe runs the House of Speed in Chicago. Konerko hits into a freaking Web Gem every damn night because he runs to first like he's carrying Frank Thomas on his back.

Screw Konerko. The guy has turned into an 8 million dollar platoon player. We all know he makes a living off hitting left handed pitching, but we face LHP maybe 20% of the time. That means for the other 80% of games, we have a GIDP, rally killing, automatic out in the 6th spot of the lineup.

That wasn't Konerko that hit that homerun yesterday, that was a direct message from God. This is our year, and I think I actually saw the lightning bolt from God strike Paulie's bat as he hit that pitch he never should have swung at.

I'll apologize when he quits sucking. Or when he apologizes to me for hitting .179 during the Sox' "stretch run" last September.
