This is really annoying, the Sox scored a 15-0 victory last night and all the Score 670 was talking about was the Flubs, I turn on the radio and they say the Sox won 15-0 and then went on and on about the Cubs, one short injection slightly mumbled about us being in 1st, but that was it, and it was Flubs Flubs Flubs, and they lost....oh wait the world is ending because Kerry Wood might be hurt, too bad WE ARE IN FIRST!!!!!!

I need a beer!

That show SICKENS me.........however, I thought MURPH for SURE,
was going to talk about SOX FANS GOING WILD LAST NITE,
despite fact that all the fights were instigated by cub fans last nite. Last time I saw this many cub fans causing trouble, (not counting crosstown games) was ............Last year against KC.
Anyone remember what happened that day? 4 cub fans ran on the field. the media needs to put 2 and 2 together here .......

Hood was kind of an ass last night too. A goofy caller said something stupid like whoever got beat up deserved it, and Hood went nuts and said "can't you just talk about your own team instead of instigating or worrying about the Cubs?" Uh, J. Hood? Cub fans showing up at the Cell wearing Cub gear and rooting for the visiting team, that's not them "instigating" or "worrying about" the Sox? Be consistent now. Now we all said that guy that got shot last week had a right to be a Sox fan at the Urinal, so I hate to say it, we can't stop Cub fans from coming to the Cell. Is it stupid to walk into the Cell in full Cub regalia and start crap with Sox fans on a night that they are not even PLAYING the Cubs? Yes it is. Were they causing trouble? Most likely they were. Should there be 1000 fights over it? No. I hate to say it but this ALWAYS seems to happen on half price nights...................
And Hood, before accusing us Sox fans of instigating the other team, just remember where the game was played at last night and where all the Cub fans looking for trouble were. Well, they found it. Doesn't make it right, but are they really that dumb to think nothing would/could happen? I mean if it could happen in WRIGLEYVILLE it could happen anywhere, right? Why weren't they jammed into their wrigleyville bars waiting for their own team's game to start?

The Sox need to double or triple their security staff on the half price nights. It's bs that guys like Hangar have to be on alert so they don't get popped in the head unexpectedly by some drillrod scrub fan. As much as these guys are at fault, the Sox should know better based on the incidents in late 2002 and early 2003. Security in the bleachers and upper tank has to be at least doubled on nights like this.

We need to get the word out if this Cub fan trouble keeps up, why come to our place and cause trouble?? I really don't understand, that is why I will not o to a cubs-sox came at the Cell. I a very disappointed in hearing this, this is driving people away from coming to the games. Very Very Sad

You can't expect anything out the morning show except Cub talk. That is where Murph is coming from, and he should just admit it. It doesn't matter that the two teams have nearly identical records. The mighty will fall pretty hard if the Cubs don't meet these high expectations. And expectations are all they are at this point.

It is just sad that when the Flubs fall out of the race and if the Sox are really on fire, YOU WILL STILL HEAR FLUBS FLUBS FLUBS, it really makes me sick, come on this morning, the Sox won 15-0 and still the cubs lost and that is all you hear is the details on the Cubs game AND THEY LOST.

I am a huge Sox fan, never really despised the Cubs, but now that is changing I HATE the Cubs seriously, cause the media is shoving the Flubs down my throat, I AM A SOX FAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't go to ANY Cub/Sox games, I don't go to half price night, and I don't go to Wrigley. That KC game last year was almost the EXACT situation as last night: nice weather, half price night, 9000 walk ups. I know that the Sox base their security force on what they think the ticket sales are gonna be for each particular game, but don't they realize YET that on half price nights there are A LOT OF WALK UP SALES!!!!!!!!!! We should not have to tell them this! What, because you can pop in your pepsi code on the internet now they don't expect walkup sales anymore? GET WITH IT WHITE SOX!!!!! Here we are talking about what a joke the safety of wrigleyville is and we have 200 fights in OUR PARK the first home game after that shooting last week. Somebody wake up whoever is in charge of security at the Cell please!

I turned on the Score this morning, and for 50 Minutes of the hour, they talked Cub, how injury affects team, had a specialist on tricep injuries on, asked who cubs can trade for,
who is the best on the cubs, Compared cub record in last week vs beginning of season, asked if Choi wouldve helped, Had a DesMoine writer on talking about Cub Minor Leaguers..... blah blah blah blah. Only PASSING mention made of 1st place SOX win, Big win at that. SUDDENLY ............I went into a TimeWarp.........and was transported back to April and May of 2000 .......... this is exactly what happened in 2000.......

Sickening isn't it. I guarantee the Flubs will not make the playoff:
1) Houston is awesome-Clemens is 7-0
2) the have no hitting, and well their pitchers are dropping like flies

Makes you wonder how long it will take, when they fall flat for the media to admit that they will not make it and the spend 2 hours talking about it with a 15 second mention of the Sox Playoff schedule....am I right?? Of Course!!

This isn't just a Cubs-Sox issue, and if you think it is, you need a rality check.
While walking out of the park last night, a guy wearing Sox jersey thought it would be cool if he ran into everyone in his path, including me, decked out in full White Sox garb.

If Acub fan is giving you trouble, tell security. Geez, this Tuesday night stuff gets very old.

Can I ask an honest question and attempt to get an honest answer...Do you not think that the possible injury of ANOTHER Cubs pitcher is a bigger story than a single 15-0 game? It was exciting, I enjoyed it, but it was just a game. The possible injury of Kerry Wood is frightening to fans of that team.

OK??? That was someone acting stupid, we are talking about cub fans taunting a park full of Sox fans and running up and down the aisle chanting about the Cubs and giving people the finger......send them up North.

But it isn't just Cub fans taunting Sox fans in the Cell that is the problem. It is the half-price Tuesday crowd (large and many "casual" fans), the lack of security, and the effects of too much alcohol (note the fights tend to occur in the late innings). Focusing on Cub fans doesn't solve the problem. If we somehow banned them (which we can't), we'd still have fights. I don't know what the solution is, though I'd bet that it rests with improved and increased security.

Honestly...possibly, but when you get the Flubs shoved down your throat everyday with just a casual mention of your team you tend to not really care why, I would predict that even if Wood didnt get pulled out of the game it would have been the same this morning, if it was buerhle you wouldnt have heard that stink you whould have heard FLUBS FLUBS FLUBS, just liek you have all season.

BTW they are as close to last as First place...hmmmmmm we are in what do you call it....First.....yes you sense some animosity.

Security can't do much until something happens. The problem is half-price night.

I'd rather see a $5-per-ticket increase across the board than go to another Tuesday night game.

Correct, half price days are definitely when the morons from BOTH SIDES OF TOWN come on down. It's been that way for years.

Wait, you all claim tickets are too expensive, but you don't like the crowd that comes when they are cheaper????

I never said that every fight that ever happens at a ball game is Cub/Sox related. I've been in a few tiffs myself with fellow Sox fans. I was more pissed off about J.Hood blasting Sox fans for "purposely going out of their way to worry about the Cubs" and that Cub fans "don't care enough do that" to the little, unimportant, peon White Sox. That's bull and last night proved it. I know fans of ANY team can be obnoxious; there have been times when I moved out of my seat and went to the concourse to get away from some rowdy Sox guys. As for calling security, good luck. First you have to actually find them, and then you have to HOPE that they'll do something. I'm not making this up either, I've seen them run the other way when a fight breaks out only to stop someone from smoking or throwing peanuts. There's a post in a different thread from a guy who DID call security on people who were approached many times BY security, and he got his ass kicked for it with NO help from them, just their customary shrug. I don't blame them either since they are usually outnumbered at no fault of their own, but the Sox. Funny, everyone else on here seems to think half-price nights DO have a lot to do with rowdyiness and drunkenness. I've been to every home game this year excluding half price nights and have yet to see ONE fight; last night there were at least 5 that we have eyewitness accounts of. I don't think I'm the one that needs a reality check.

His tricep tightened up, and he was taken out of the game. Story over! Make a big deal out of it after they check his arm this week.
Sox are in town, in first place and should be the story.

PS - I think a story about our 21 game winning pitcher losing some velocity is a bigger story than a .500% pitcher having a tight arm.

But I thought the Score were the White Sox friends trying to get the contract?

I wonder if this has been happening at other NL parks the Cubs have visited. When the Cubs were in St. Louis, a post on the Cards Clubhouse board claimed that Cub fans were instigating fights.

Boy you give these Cub fans a pick to go to the WS and they think they are the baddest even before they have seen 1st place this season, but I have heard the many complaints about Flub fans causing problems around the league, those little Alky's are like cockroaches

Anyone that turns on 670 and looks for useful discussion or information is wasting time. I grew up in an era when the only "sports talk" was "The Sportswriters" on Sunday nights. Bill Berg did have a nightly show on WIND-but that turned into a completely Cub show, and died.
Back then I knew more about players, stats and what was happening with any team than you'd get listening to 670 24 hrs a day for 50 years.
GET YOUR OWN SOURCES FOR INFO-DONT RELY ON 670 FOR ANYTHING. YOU WILL BE MUCH MORE WELL INFORMED.

Dont aggrivate yourselves by turning on that dribble
