Paulie's hitting has returned form the dead. Not only is he hitting for power, he's hitting for a decent average. He is one of the very few in all of major league baseball to have more home runs than strikeouts. Yeah, he still gets his GIDPs, but thats primarily because he has the speed of an oak tree.

However, in two of the last three games he has demonstrated lapses of judgment that I could accept from an eleven year old Little Leaguer, but not from someone with PK experience.

Saturday he made a nice stop on a grounder behind first base, turned, and threw away the ballgame. He hurried his throw and the ball squirted past the oncoming pitcher, allowing one run to score and setting up a second.

Gone was the lead, and soon the ballgame.

Tuesday he lead off the Sox 7th with a nice double. Crede grounded a ball to Omar Visquel at shortstop and Konerko gets caught trying to make it to third.

That type of brainless baseball really detracts from what so far has been a fine bounce back season.

DING DING DING

There is a difference between aggressive hustle and stupid idiocy. PK has killed us with the latter in two games so far. He isn't that good that he can afford to do this.

Since he is hitting well, and since we mostly seem to like Gload, is now a good time to revisit shipping him to the Dodgers, who still would like a legit 1B?

I definitely agree. Now is the perfect time to trade him. His value isn't going to get much higher, and he is easilly replaceable. Do it now, before he pulls his trademark disappearing act for a month or so.

I think it's time to trade him as well. Maybe he could be packaged with someone else to get a left-handed bat, who hits for average only, and veteran pitcher.

Trade him??? If you don't want him, neither will anyone else.
