As far as I can tell he's given up about 8 duck snorts. I don't know what he's supposed to do with thataside from striking out more hitters.

Garland's falling behind in counts and has given up a couple of hard hits. Most of the hits, though, have resulted from bloops.

Garland certainly hasn't helped his case, though, and unfortunately, the Sox are down 5-4 after 3.

C'mon, Sox, let's get this lead back and revert it to the laugher it was supposed to remain!

I have the Cleveland broadcasters on and they've made litterally five or six remarks about how few hard hit balls Garland has given up and theorized that he must be quite frustrated. You're correct that he's been behind in the count some but I don't see how that relates to bloop hits. Theoretically you fall behind in the count and you throw get me over pitches resulting in hard hit balls but the Tribe isn't hitting the ball hard. Hits on duck snorts really can't be considered anything other than luck in my opinion. He has walked two batters but one was in the first inning when he didn't allow any runs so only one has come back to bite him.

Ease up on Politte,he's had a good year so far. I'm getting tired of people turning against guys on one bad outing. there aren't many relievers out there with 0.00 era's. Sure the indians arent great, but if you've followed them at all this year, theyve battled a lot of teams well.

The benefit of the gameday thread is that you can get a historical recount of a game. If something special happened it's always nice to be able to refer to the game thread.

Am I allowed to politefully disagree with this? I wasn't online for Sunday's game, but I enjoyed coming here to read what people thought of the magnificent comeback. Last night, my DSL was down, so again I came here this morning to see what people thought of this meltdown. I think some of the post-game analysis in these threads in great.

Post game analysis could always be posted in separate threads - like Kermit's comment could instead be in a thread titled "Ozzie misuses the bullpen" and then the discussion would go from there instead of being buried in these long meaningless threads. There are whole pages of just crap in these things. Posts which give no information and merely display the posters frustration at a given moment in the game. That's the stuff that belongs in chat.

But isn't a new thread taking up just as much disk space, if not more, than placing it in the game thread? When I read the game thread after the game, I usually just hit the last page or the second to last page of the thread anyway to read the latest comments. I understand where you are coming from- I think there are a lot of responses that are somewhat meaningless, but they really do give a flavor of the game. I think we're all guilty of posting one word or one sentence responses though. But I like seeing analysis of a particular game (especially post game stuff) under a thread named "Official Sox vs. xxxxxx 4/xx Game Thread" for example.
