We could use another grinder, I am sure he's available for a good price over the next month.

I was one of the people that was not happy that the Sox let Robbie walk away, but this was taken from an article about the teams getting off to slow starts:

From ESPN.com - But Roberto Alomar has been so disappointing that one scout -- a long-time Alomar admirer -- said, "He ought to retire."

If any of you missed this, Robbie Alomar broke a bone in his right hand and will be out for an undetermined amount of time (maybe 6-8 weeks at best). Here is the link.

That was a pretty quick merge! I didn't realize that the threads were merged at all on the site. I did check to see if someone else had started one and just flat out missed it. My bad!

Good story unrelated to anything Alomar. When I married my wife she was a Cub fan from a Cub family. She has since switched allegiances to the Sox. Last night I had the privilege of presenting her with a Magglio Ordonez home jersey for her birthday. She had been wanting one for some time and was absolutely thrilled when she got it. She put it on and wore it for the rest of the evening.

My wife's motto is based upon the Geico ads. She says, "We all do dumb things, but being a Cub fan doesn't have to be one of them."

If we can all convert just one other person...

I was happy we let Alomar go. Unfortunately, KW chose to spend that money on Shingo. :(:

What's wrong with Shingo? His stuff has looked pretty nasty. Although he's one-dimensional since he can't face left handers, he has impressed me so far.

Shingo made A-Rod look silly last night. The only pitcher to do so.
