It's been an interesting three weeks for the Sox I'll say that.
Coming on the heels of the opening day situation which saw the Sox become the first MLB team in 104 years to blow a four run lead in the 9th inning and lose, sees the Sox being the first team again in 104 years to allow a pitcher making his MLB debut to go into his first inning with a seven run cushion.
The record is 12 set by the Dodgers back in the 18 hundreds.

Dubious stats perhaps, but relevance to the big picture of the 2004 Sox? ... Somewhere near epsilon

Talk about meaningless stats. Baseball is full of them. Went to the Braves game the other day. Did you know Adam LaRoche was the first player in MLB history to have his first two MLB hits in the same inning?

On opening day though. The day doesn't really matter and the Sox aren't the only team to blow a 4 run lead in the 9th in recent memory.

Welcome to Ozzie's world.
It's a crazy train.
And a bloody lot of fun.

I think that these "dubious Stats" are one of the things that makes baseball as great as it is. Now we just neeed for the white sox to be the team that is the first in about 90 years to beat the cubs in the world series and for ozzie to be the first in however many years to be a rookie manager who wins manager of the year and a world series title.
