Hey, Welcome Aboard! :D:

Where did you hear this?

It's a tough call. Cotts, Adkins, and Jackson have all pitched well. Put Koch on the DL! :D:

Put Koch on a slow boat to China.

Isn't he allowed a bit more time in the minors to get back in shape?

I've seen about all I want from Danny Wright, send him packing to Charlotte.

Move Cotts into the 5th starting role.

Adkins - early relief and mop up.

Jackson - 6th , 7th, and 8th innings.

Wunsch- left handed specialist , possible inning of work.

Politte- 7th and 8th inning set up.

Marte- 8th inning set up and at times closer.

Koch- closer......for now. :?:

I know he reported for his rehab stint with Charlotte so I guess he's done. Not sure that he made more than one game appearance.

I am thrilled to see Wunch coming back. That will strengthen the pen a lot if Kelly is 100%

Ozzie said in the paper this morning that Wright is still his #5 guy. My guess is that Adkins will go back to Charlotte.

Wright is out of options,I would assume Adkins will be sent down.

Shingo looked pretty good in his last outing. Why would you want to give up on him already?

Actually, the worst thing you can probably say about our relief pitching is that it has been inoonsistent. Even Koch has looked good at times. It really will take a few more outings to get a handle on who you'd want to give up on.

With the exception of Marte's Opening Day debacle, the only BP pitcher continually sucking is Botch. Adkins, Jackson, Cotts, and Politte have done what's asked of them. I think Takatsu could become a righty specialist akin to Wunsch. Send Botch and his $6 million to Charlotte. Maybe in the minors he'll be able to find where that 7-10 MPH on his fastball went.

I hate to see Frank get hurt, obviously, but I am interested to see what Gload can do in a more expanded role.

Gload is better at first than Konerko, so I would just DH Konerko if Frank is going on the DL.

If they send Adkins down, I think that would be a big mistake. I think that kid has the potential to be a damn good closer, and he hasn't made any mistakes thus far...

And we'd carry 13 pitchers?

Based on what? Spring training and three major league innings?

I'd have to agree with you here, jeremy.

Adkins, while he has not done anything to screw up yet, is certainly not a can't miss kind of guy. There's no real reason to have high expectations or low expectations. Therefore, except for gtting rid of Koch or shifting Cotts to a starter and dumping Wright, neither of which this team is inclined to do right now, Adkins must be sent down to make room.

I think Shingo and Jackson looked good... Marte is coming back around... Wunsch as the other lefty... Cotts as the long relief, Billy and Cliff can close it out.

so yeah, Adkins would be the odd man out.

Adkins 2004 ML innings >>>>> Wright's ML innings

Danny belongs in Charlotte. I finally realize that his spring was a cruel mirage. HE NEVER THROWS STRIKES!

Wright is GARBAGE! If he refuses the assignment, by some miracle of God, then he OBVIOUSLY wil clear waivers.

Or, better yet, the Cubs claim him and he loses 12+ games for them!

Either way, I'm happy.

Wright won't be the guy sent down, but he is not out of options. His contract was purchased on 7/21/01. He finished that season with the Sox.

He spent the entire 2002 season in Chicago so no option was used. His time in Charlotte at the beginning of 2003 was, I believe, considered rehab (I could be wrong on that one). His time in Charlotte in July was less than 20 days, so it should not count as an option.

At most, they used one option on him last year, but it is possible he has used zero options.

I think they should try Diaz or Grilli since they are streched out to be starters, trade Wright and put Koch on thr DL with some phantom injury.

To the people defending Adkins on his great spring...

Danny Wrong pitched lights out in spring, so your argument doesn't hold much water.
