Is Paul Konerko a free agent after this year? I've seen it stated a couple of places lately. I thought he signed a 3 yr deal after the 2002 season.

I know his contract sucks, but he has been earning it this year, for sure.

Here are his salaries for 2004 & 2005. The contract also pays him an additional $500k if he is traded.
2004: $8.0M
2005: $8.75M

He could hit .300 with 30 bombs and 100 rbi's this year and he'd still be overpaid.
Still like him though.

His range leaves something to be desired.
