Hey Gang,

I lurk all the time, rarely post. Good fans onboard here.
Wondering if anybody made it to the Bronx for the series.
I flew out there for the weekend and went on Friday and Sat.

I had a great time and was glad to see the Sox win. Was great
to see Mags jack a couple. Still pretty thankful after watching
Garland walk 8 and Jose have 2 errors in i inning, yikes.

The Yankee Stadium experience was cool. The fans were fine
and we exchanged some barbs, all in good fun. Since I am
from Chicago and not Boston, nobody seemed too concerned.

I was surprised how good of shape Yankee stadium is in.
It's old though, worse concessions anywhere. Granted people
go to see the product on the field. While I had a great time,
I do think I was a bit underwhelmed with the stadium experience
itself, lousy $6 hot dogs and $8 beers ouch...

About the only food worth the money at Yankee Stadium is the Italian Sausage. Expensive, but still pretty good. And the Sushi Bar isn't that bad either, though incredibly expensive.

Dave, I made the trip up from Delaware to see the game on Saturday. I was out in the right field box seats, right next to the bleachers. I found the fans there to be quite tolerant of our brand of Sox, far less so of the Red variety. I was sporting my green, St. Patrick's day Sox cap and walking past one group of Yankee fans, a guy said to me, "Man, nice hat...now go home" and laughed, this was in the 9th when the Sox were up big.

Definitely saw a handful of Sox fans there, and we all would point at each other and say, "good game fellas" or something of the like. While despising the team, I must admit that the baseball fan in me absolutely loves the history of Yankee Stadium. I actually got there early enough to get into Monument Park and it was well worth getting up at 6:15am to drive to the park. What an experience.

GO SOX!!

this is awesome and is what baseball is all about, fans reacting with fans in a civilized manner.

i.e. cubs fans aren't fans, they are animals and subject to ...whateva

I tried to get into Monument Park, went to the Bronx super
early, got there 5 minutes after the gates opened and they
had already closed it.

My son went to Saturday's and Sunday's games there (and is due back in town in about a half hour). He sat in the top row of the right field bleachers with a friend of his, both wearing their Sox apparel.

He was amazed at the "Bleacher Creatures." He said they made the Wrigley bums look tame, but they remained quiet until Koch came in and they joined the locals in calling him a bum after he gave up the homer Saturday.

As one female fan was walking by, she said to them, "Thank you for not being obnoxious. Sounds like she's been around Red Sox fans.
