Just watching the highlights, it looks like a new surface- perhaps just further deterioration, covered with some new spray-paint, I couldn't tell.



ON another note, nice to see this edition doesn't suffer from Gene Lamontitis- go on a 7 game dive after a tough 9th inning beat.

It is a new surface - the same "grassier" turf that's being used in Tampa Bay. Apparently it plays a whole lot slower.

Don't know about the conrete underneath - I would have to think it's still there, given how expensive ripping it up would be.
