Harris should be down in the 8 or 9 hole and Rowand should be up top, followed by Lee, Ordonez, Thomas, Konerko, Crede, Valentin, Alomar and then Harris.

I think Sandy catches virtually all of Buehrle's games. Someone probably knows why- they must have a good connection or something.

Alomar is Buerhle's personal catcher I believe.

I read somewhere that it was because Buehrle likes to just pitch whatever his catcher calls. He doesn't like to shake off signs as it disturbs his quick rhythm. As such, Sandy's game-calling experience gives him a huge edge over Olivo, so Sandy catches all of Buehrle's starts.

owensmouth
04-05-2004, 10:54 AM
According to Sandy Alomar, Buerhle wants his catcher to call the pitches. Therefore he prefers Sandy, with his experience, to be his catcher.

As for Carlos Lee batting second, Ozzie probably discovered that Lee doesn't do as well against left handers as he does against right handers. Last year Lee's average against lefties was almost .100 lower than against righties.

From ESPN.com

Royals: CF Carlos Beltran has the second-highest AL average (.456) and SS Angel Berroa leads the league in runs (20). Don't judge Rich Thompson by his average: .238. Thompson leads the team with 17 RBI and is tied for the league lead in steals with six.

So looks like they also hit well in ST

/\ I'm not gonna argue with that. Let's play ball.

Mike Sweeney 1B .281(32 ABs)
Juan Gonzalez RF .667(3 ABs)

David DeJesus DH -- NO ABs
Desi Relaford 2B .429(7 ABs)
Aaron Guiel LF .000 (0-7)
Benito Santiago C .000(0-1)

Projected WS Line-up BA against Anderson lifetime:

2B Harris---No ABs

RF Ordonez .250(15 ABs)
DH Thomas .360(17 ABs)
LF Lee .111(12 ABs)
1B Konerko .286(17 ABs)
3B Crede .188 (11 ABs)
CF Rowand .500(14 ABs)
C Alomar .333(10 ABs)

Doesn't look like those murders row ST stats for the sox against Anderson. But that could be due to the low number of at bats they've had against him. I'd say we're in for a tough game

Yeah I cant get any kind of reception at all in my work area, so I broke down and paid the 15 bucks from gameday audio. But you can listen to every singel game all year, and you can hear either cities broadcast team. Pretty cool, have been listening to the Detroit and Toronto stations for the Jays-Tigers game. Just interesting hearing other cities broadcast teams.

Audio is only $15 for the season. A bargain considering I'll only get a couple of televised games out here in the coolest state in the country, yay Delaware. It also is available in both real player and windows media this year.

A few quick thoughts:

1) I'm starting to get really annoyed with Hawk and DJ emphasizing everyone's spring stats.

2) The Sun Times reported Rowand and Willie were focusing on OBP. I've been really impressed with the way the two have worked the count so far.

3) Taking the bat out of Paully or Crede's hands by trying to weakly hit the ball to the right side and advance the runner is really, really idiotic.

I do notice it's worse when there are a lot of games going on, but it seems like they're completely unprepared for when a lot of people are watching at once or something. It seems to be working better now that a few other games have started, which probably means a lot of people where watching the Sox feed, waiting for other feeds to begin.

Here's a disturbing thought....3 run lead; we're in Koch territory
