6-1 Royals....Sox get stymied by a crappy pitcher again. Buerhle only gives up 2 or 3, then the BP takes over.

5-3 Sox. Thomas goes deep. Harris hits a double, steals third and scores. Buehrle looks impressive going 7 strong innings with 1 run. Takatsu lets 2 score in the eighth and Koch gets the save.

-4-3 Sox

-Konerko hits into a DP
-Willie Harris reaches base once
-Jerry Manuel watches 2 innings on TV
-Another Royals pitcher hurts himself
-Joe Randa smiles the entire game
-Hawk says "mercy!" 5 times

8-3 Sox
Buerhle gives up three runs and then shuts KC down.
Thomas hits a two-run homer.
Maggs goes deep for three.
Carlos gets two ribbies.
Harris scores twice.
I'm not sure how they get the other run (crystal ball problem).

GO YOU WHITE SOX!!!

Only if mini-Ozzie doesn't get to play.

After all, he's Da Coach now...

Even though I have predicted a sub-.500 season I think the Sox are going to win today. Buehrle's last few starts have been solid and the Sox want to make a statement in KC. After the break last year, when they wanted to make a statement in KC, they did. So...

White Sox 7, Royals 4

My Whitesox bias says 10-3 Sox...

Reality says 5 to 2 KC...

Anderson is a relativly young unknown pitcher, right? You know what that means...

I like this prediction!

However, making my own, I'll say 5-1 Sox, PK yard, CLee 3-3, Valentin shows up too...

Sox will hang on to win 5-4. They will only score 2 runs off Brian Anderson, but Maggs will hit a 3 run homer in the 8th off of KC's bullpen to seal the win for the good guys.

Let's assume 'tomorrow' means 'Wednesday' and keep the thread going!
here was my prediction from the first game:

originally posted by Whitesox029 in the thread "White Sox need a Strong Start..." :
GM 1 in KC- Buehrle gets a case of the opening day jitters as he gives up 4 runs in 5 innings, 2 of them getting on as walks. Not a disaster, but enough to set himself and the Sox at 0-1 as the Sox' only 2 runs come on a HR off the bat of Paulie in the second inning. Back to the cold weather, boys!

eerie similarities, no? Konerko did indeed drive in 2 runs, and the first two KC runs in the 9th did get on as walks.

originally posted by Whitesox029 in the thread "White Sox need a Strong Start..." :
GM 2 in KC- Loaiza shines, assuaging Sox fans' worries that 2003 was a fluke. He pitches a 3 hit complete game shutout. The Sox score only 2 runs again, one a solo shot from Thomas, the second a manufactured run, but this time it's enough. Sox fans begin to have nightmares about the lethargic hitting of the early part of 2003.

this needs modification to....
GM 2 in KC- Loaiza shines, assuaging Sox fans' worries that 2003 was a fluke. He pitches a 3 hit complete game shutout. The Sox score 7 runs again, one a solo shot from Thomas early in the game, 4 runs in the 5th inning on a string of hits including a Carlos Lee laser off the center field wall for a triple, and a two run homer by Rowand in the 8th. Sox fans at WSI relax as the Sox show KC who's boss (and shut those annoying fans up).
