Mar 29 The Angels will be without their primary set-up man for an indefinite period of time, after right-hander Brendan Donnelly was hospitalized for the third time with profuse nosebleeds. His broken nose was originally the result of a misjudged fly ball in early March and has now been operated on three separate times. On one occasion, the bleeding was so severe that Donnelly lost approximately half his body's total blood over 48 hours. "Right now, we're not dealing with a situation where we're wondering when a guy will get back to the mound," manager Mike Scioscia told the Los Angeles Times. "We're dealing with a serious situation that needs to be addressed for Brendan to be healthy." Donnelly will open the season on the disabled list and could easily miss several weeks to start the season.
Views: Donnelly is absolutely critical to the Anaheim formula for success; in fact, the batting average he allowed to lefty hitters last season (.199) is the primary reason the Angels haven't been concerned about not having a lefty reliever in the bullpen. His absence puts undue pressure on the pen—notably bridge reliever Francisco Rodriguez and closer Troy Percival—and may force Angels' starters to go longer in their starts.

Schoenweise is a Lefty Specialist right? Think they'd want him back?

Let's just leave him outside the door of Edison Field.
