Several scouts watching the left-handed reliever pitch Sunday said his fastball was clocked at 80-81 mph at best. One scout said Wunsch didn't look like the same pitcher he was last year and that he was throwing as if he were injured.

I'm not too worried about it. If he starts out rough, we certainly have guys to step up in the minors. Particuraly Ryan Meaux as a left handed specialist. Also, if Cotts indeed takes a bullpen spot, he can occasionally step up in that capacity as well, although not primarily.

I read an article in the Herald which mentions Kelly has in fact been injured:

Feeling better: Bothered by shoulder and back soreness for the past week and a half, Sox reliever Kelly Wunsch said he felt much better Tuesday after pitching 1 scoreless inning against the Giants.

"The last time I threw, my shoulder just wouldn't let go,'' Wunsch said. "The muscles around my shoulder were really tight and it's something you can't do anything about. Today, I felt a lot better. I'll be fine.''
