I was wondering if you were going to fix the title before you posted this.

I think it's 2000 all over again..... play well until october and then choke in 3...I'm slightly pessimistic like that, but not so much as to actually pick the Twins or Royals over the Sox.

We're gonna win a playoff series. I can feel it. I doubt that we can win the World Series, but I think when we get to the ALCS, that we very well could be participants.

I really hope I'm wrong, but I think no playoffs for us this year.

First playoff win since 1917 for a trip to the ALCS.

85 wins...but it's still not enough to win the division.

We should win the division. I'll keep my fingers crossed though.

The optimist in me says the Sox will win the weak Central. In an effort to keep my expectations down so as to avoid disappointment though, I'm voting "no playoffs but above .500"

78-84, 3rd place, 1.65 million fans :(:

I guess I am pessimistic and optimistic at the same time. I think they will probably win the division, but get smoked in the playoffs. But I am almost teetering on above .500 but no playoffs. I will give this team the benefit of the doubt, for now. :(:

OHMIGAWD! It's a Mooch sighting...

I think they will be just over .500, but no playoffs. It could go eithe way and really will depend on all of the unknows including Ozzie, Willie, Uribe, Wright and Schoenweiss among other things. If they don't find a leadoff hitter, then they are screwed.

Spring training has forced me to make a far more optimistic prediction than I would have before.

80-82, third place.

I predicted 84 wins and 2nd place in the predictions thread and have seen nothing to make me think otherwise since. The good news is that it might not even take 90 wins to win this division, so if I'm off by 4 games like last year we could be celebrating an 88-win AL Central crown.

Unfortunatley for us we will go through another year of sub-mediocrity. There is no talent on offense and when you have to actually compete with teams to win in the AL Central, you are not a winner. Sox will come in third in the AL Central, if lucky. I hate to say it, but our Sox Sux once again.

Unless we get another SP and some serious bullpen help, looks like 85 wins at best to me. No playoffs. :(:

Maybe the enthusiasm and optimism of the the OZ is rubbing off on me, but I'am looking for a 90-72, first place, win the first round of playoffs but lose in the alcs to the hated yanks.

I think we have an above average chance at winning this joke of a division. We have some really strong players at the core of this team (i.e. Lee, Ordonez, Buehrle, etc..) and I think that they could surprise us. And since the espn baseball guys (for some reason their names escape me...not that they are important) picked us to finish 3rd or 4th, I like our chances of winning.
